Where can I fine a marine animal fancy dress costume for an adult?
My friend's son is having an underwater theme birthday party and everyone has to go in fancy dress dressed as a marine animal - a fish, crab, shark etc. Does anyone know where I can buy/hire a costume for an adult? thank you
You would be better off renting one, they have pretty much everything you can imagine, and are usually a similar price to what you would pay to buy one, but realistically speaking, you will probably only wear the costume once, so it is not worth buying one. If you look in the yellow pages under costume hire, fancy dress hire, you should find the one nearest to you. If you are in or near London, the best one is the one all the theatres and film crews use, I think it is called Angels, and is based somewhere like Covent Garden or Holborn, although the costumes are really fantastic, they are quite expensive for a one off party. I would check the yellow pages.
Failing that, if you go to Woolworths, you can get crepe paper in all colours, my mum used to make my fancy dress costumes out of this when I was a kid, its versatile, easy to fix, staples, paper glue that kind of thing and should last the length of one party. You don't have to be brilliant at making things, just a little imagination will do it. Have a great time.
